The Standing Council of Scottish Chiefs
The Standing Council of Scottish Chiefs (SCSC) is the official representative body of Scotland's recognized clan chiefs and chieftains. Established in 1951, the Council was formed to preserve and promote Scotland's unique clan heritage and to provide a collective voice for chiefs whose titles and armorial bearings are recognized by the Scottish Crown through the authority of the Court of the Lord Lyon, Scotland's heraldic authority.
The Scottish clan system is one of the nation's most enduring cultural institutions, with roots stretching back centuries.
